What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy helps individuals develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills.

Occupational therapists work with children facing challenges due to developmental delays, disabilities, or other conditions, providing tailored interventions to enhance their ability to participate in school, play, and daily routines. Through engaging, play-based activities, OT promotes not only skill development but also confidence and self-esteem, helping children thrive in their environments. By addressing each child's unique needs, occupational therapy empowers them to reach their full potential and enjoy a more fulfilling life.

How often will my child need therapy sessions?

The frequency of sessions depends on your child's needs and goals. Most children benefit from weekly sessions, but this can vary based on individual circumstances.

Do you accept insurance?

We currently accept Nevada Medicaid, Aetna, and SilverSummit Health Plan; we are also in the process of adding several other insurances - stay tuned. In addition to accepting health insurance, we do also accept private pay options. If your insurance covers out-of-network services, we can provide a coded receipt (superbill) for potential reimbursement. Families are encouraged to familiarize themselves with their coverage details and secure any required authorizations. Choosing private pay comes with benefits, including no referral requirements, coverage for all therapy services, unlimited sessions, and no hidden fees.

How long will my child need occupational therapy?

The duration of therapy varies for each child and is based on individual progress and goals. Some children may need only a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term support.

Where are services provided?

What types of activities will my child do during therapy?

Therapy sessions may include play-based activities, fine motor skill exercises, sensory integration tasks, and functional skills training, all tailored to your child's specific needs.

How can I support my child’s progress at home?

We encourage caregivers to observe sessions, especially initially, so you can learn techniques and strategies to use at home. We will provide you with strategies and activities to reinforce skills learned during therapy. We also encourage open communication to address any concerns or questions you may have.
